{"id":546,"date":"2011-09-12T02:51:29","date_gmt":"2011-09-12T06:51:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hamiltonartist.com\/blog\/?p=546"},"modified":"2011-09-12T03:07:20","modified_gmt":"2011-09-12T07:07:20","slug":"prayers-for-lennie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hamiltonartist.com\/blog\/?p=546","title":{"rendered":"PRAYERS FOR LENNIE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hamiltonartist.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/L-and-I.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-549\" title=\"Lennie and I\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hamiltonartist.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/L-and-I.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"222\" height=\"166\" \/><\/a>It is almost 11 P.M. on Sunday night here in Tijuana as I start to write this. \u00a0In about 12 hours from now Lennie will be going into surgery. \u00a0He will be coming out with a colostomy bag. \u00a0He will be coming out with hopefully a lot less pain in his rectum as the surgeon is going to try to de-bulk the tumor. \u00a0They believe that it is too firmly attached into other tissues to remove it, but are planning on cutting off some of its blood supply from a few main arteries and veins.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone wants Lennie to have the surgery now except me. \u00a0Still hopeful, I believe that you can get rid of cancer with sheer will, determination and a strong protocol of alternative therapies. \u00a0 But Lennie is tired; he is weak. \u00a0He is worn down from fighting this awful disease. And he is in constant pain. \u00a0The doctor this afternoon said that he is hoping that the rectal pain will decrease by 80%, but that is just a guess at this point. \u00a0They are also going to remove his hemorrhoids that have plagued him for so many months and so many past years. \u00a0The colostomy bag will buy him time while we treat the tumor, so that it does not close off his rectum. \u00a0The surgeon said that it even still may be possible in the future to reverse the colostomy. \u00a0Only time will tell. \u00a0For now my immediate concern is that he makes it through the surgery. \u00a0So it is with genuine humility that I ask for your prayers for Lennie at 11 o&#8217;clock Monday morning.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_548\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hamiltonartist.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/sonar.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-548\" class=\"size-full wp-image-548\" title=\"sonar therapy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hamiltonartist.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/sonar.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"478\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-548\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Me learning to do the sonar treatment on Lennie.
