{"id":960,"date":"2014-12-17T00:43:22","date_gmt":"2014-12-17T05:43:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hamiltonartist.com\/blog\/?p=960"},"modified":"2014-12-17T00:44:26","modified_gmt":"2014-12-17T05:44:26","slug":"my-best-cranberry-sauce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hamiltonartist.com\/blog\/?p=960","title":{"rendered":"MY BEST CRANBERRY SAUCE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hamiltonartist.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/cranberry-sauce.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-961\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hamiltonartist.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/cranberry-sauce.jpg\" alt=\"cranberry sauce\" width=\"260\" height=\"194\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Remember when I said that all artists were good cooks?\u00a0 This\u00a0recipe is my own invention and since\u00a0I view cranberry sauce as one of the main dishes, I make a lot of it.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Also, most cooks don\u2019t measure therefore you might have to adjust the sugar to your own taste; okay\u2026 maybe the vodka too.<\/p>\n<p>Cranberry Sauce recipe:<\/p>\n<p>2 pounds of fresh cranberries<\/p>\n<p>2 1\/2 Cups of sugar<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 Cup Vodka<\/p>\n<p>3\/4 of a jar of St. Dalfour Kumquat marmalade<\/p>\n<p>(if you are ambitious and you can get fresh kumquats you can make your own by chopping up\u00a0a pound of kumquats and boiling them with grape juice and some sugar) if you can\u2019t find either, substitute with orange\/ginger marmalade.<\/p>\n<p>In a pot, boil the vodka with the sugar until dissolved.\u00a0 Add the cranberries and cook until they pop open (about 10 min).\u00a0 Stir in the kumquat preserves and heat to boiling.\u00a0 Remove from heat.\u00a0 Let cool and store in the refrigerator.\u00a0 <em>YUM!\u00a0 And remember:\u00a0 the alcohol burns off so that you are just left with the flavour\u00a0so the kids can eat it too.\u00a0 \u2026You were hoping that they would knock themselves out and you\u2019d finally get some peace and quiet,\u00a0weren&#8217;t\u00a0you?\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Merry Christmas,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Kathryn<\/em><\/p>\n<p>www.kathrynsmith.com<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Remember when I said that all artists were good cooks?\u00a0 This\u00a0recipe is my own invention and since\u00a0I view cranberry sauce as one of the main dishes, I make a lot of it.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Also, most cooks don\u2019t measure therefore you might have to adjust the sugar to your own taste; okay\u2026 maybe the vodka too.
